When a new line for a new customer is created, the customer will be able to access their control panel which will give the customer a number of features that is not a possibility with most providers. There is always the account with up to 5 lines for that particular person. Keep in mind that unified voicemail is applied to the account, and not the phone. In the control panel, the customer can do a number of things, and the information below will be a sample of what can be done.
2 Factor Authentication
As an extra layer of security, the customer at sign up will be required to use a YubiKey, Authenticator App, email authentication, or verification via SMS. There will be a primary 2FA? method, and a second. Therefore if your primary is an authenticator app, and you lose your device, you can fall back on the secondary method.
ACR
ACR (Anonymous Call Rejection) is as the name implies. Anyone blocking their number from being displayed in CID units will be rejected. This rejected call will go straight to voicemail, and the caller will need to leave a message, and provide a telephone number if they want a chance for the person they are trying to reach to call them back.
Blacklist
Blacklisted numbers is a list of numbers that would go straight to voicemail when the blacklisted caller calls you. You can choose to remove the number, and add the number anytime. It may take up to 15 minutes for the changes to take effect. Since the blacklisted number goes straight to voicemail, they can choose to try to leave a voicemail and hope they can get off the list with an explanation of their behavior. The blacklist affects all telephone numbers on the account.
Calling Features
3 Way Calling, Call Waiting, and Call Forwarding are all features that the customer will be able to turn on, or turn off. If the customer turns on Call Forwarding, they will be required to provide a phone number for calls to go. If they decide to turn Call Waiting off, then calls to the number while there is an active call will go to voicemail.
eFax Option
The customer will be able to set a telephone number an eFax number. Once this number is selected, any incoming calls to that number will be intercepted by the server who will listen for a fax tone. If it hears the fax tone, then it would convert the fax into a .pdf file, and email? it to you via your email address. If it does not detect a fax tone, then the caller will go to voicemail. The caller can choose to leave a voicemail message. Any number set as the eFax option will not ring any phone.
Number Lock
This is a way to keep the number from being ported to another device unless you jump through hoops to unlock the number. More information can be found on another page. This will work with both cellular (locked. to IMEI), or SIP? (locked to MAC address).
